Teachers and other staff have reached out by email to Anahim Lake Elementary Junior-Secondary families today to see how we can support learning while we are under evacuation. Many of our families do not use email, so we are posting the same information here and on Facebook.

If the student(s) in your family have access to a computer or tablet and Wi-Fi, we can set them up to work on some online courses until they return to school.

If working online is not possible, but you can access a printer, we can email assignments to print off. Alternatively, you can ask your child to read the assignment in the email and then complete the work using paper and pen.

If these options do not work for your family, perhaps we can talk by phone and see what we can organize.

Students in grades 6-10, who attended school during the first two days, chose novels to read for their first novel study. They were supposed to have completed their novels by mid-October, but I may need to adjust the timing if students didn’t think to take their books with them. 😊 If your child does have their novel, they should stay on task and continue reading.

Please reach out so we can all begin our school year again, even if it’s not in person. You may email me at bonnie.sauder@sd27.bc.ca or call the school 250 742 3235. Your call will be forwarded to me. Please leave a message if I do not answer.

Thank you, and we look forward to connecting soon.

Bonnie Sauder, Principal
